  • No pup leaves us until it is 10 weeks of age, and fully vaccinated, this means you do not have to spend any further money on vaccinations and pup is safe and protected and ready for puppy classes and going out and about, 1st November onwards we also give Kennel Cough Vaccination.

A Crossbreed is very different than your normal pedigree, the nature of our pups and our core breeding lines mean they are lovely in nature, soft and lovable and we give you all the info you need so you can socialise your pup and teach them early on about separation, we do give you the advice you need.

We have no control on a pup when it leaves us, the procedures to keeping it safe before it has had 2nd vaccination is at times a difficult task, also if you have another dog, you have the risk of them walking as normal and bringing something back into your home on its feet. We have seen it happen, and too much time & love goes into rearing our pups. Knowing the risks, we decided it is not one we wish to take., so our pups are fully protected by the time they leave us which is 10 weeks of age. There are also other benefits:-

  • No rush to wean from Mum, that extra week is good, and we prefer it this way.

  • Our pups are very well handled and socialised so keeping them with us that extra week or so has no detriment to them, if it did, we wouldn't do it. Our pups are much more able to cope with a change of home at 10 weeks of age, they settle much easier. Crossbreeds are very different than the typical pedigree.

  • We are in no hurry to see our pups go, some breeders like to see them gone, even as young as 7 weeks, no vaccinations in place, not microchipped (which is all illegal)

  • You don't have any vet costs for 2nd vaccinations, a course of vaccinations nowadays is over £80. There is no issue with matching vaccinations either.

  • Your pup can be socialised fully 7 days after it's 2nd vaccination which we give at 10 weeks.

  • Your ready for puppy classes, no waiting for vaccinations.

  • Your pup can be mixed with your current dog and all dogs quickly and ready for out and about.

  • You don't have that frustrating period of time of pup cannot go anywhere for several weeks and the stress of keeping it safe.

  • Your dog is for many many years this extra week or so makes no difference.

  • You can meet your pup with its Mum from 4.5 weeks onwards and again at 7.5 weeks, but it cannot leave until 10 weeks.

A safe and happy healthy pup is what matters to us here at Raffles, we have piece of mind and so do you.

Is a Companion Breed right for you?

As lovely as they are there are some things you need to know about having a companion breed in your life.

Cockapoos, Cavapoos, and most cross breeds are a companion breed, this means they love to be with you, love company, and are not good at being left on their own. we go out of our way in all our pre pup hub support, and at handover of our pups to tell you how important it is to fully socialise your pup from day, things like pups classes are ideal, but as much as it is important to fully socialise, you have to also teach your companion breed it is fine to be on its own. Leaving pup from day one is important as well as socialisation, leave for 2 hours at a time and get pup being use to being on its own is vital you do this from a young age. If not you will end up with a doggie that cannot be left. They are susceptible to separation issues if you do not teach pup early age it is fine to be left on its own for small periods of time. We shall prepare your pup here, we have a full socialisation plan in place, but when a pups leaves us it is for you to ensure you take the correct advice and implement it at your end.

Grooming - Most cross breeds are popular because of allergies, this means they have a thicker coat, and will need to be groomed every 6 weeks or done by yourself at home, when the thicker adult coat comes in, unless you maintain it, the coat will get matted, so we advise you go to your groomers every 6/8 weeks.

if you are fine and prepared for the above to put the effort in, then there is nothing quite like having a companion bred to share your life with, they are funny, loyal, and very loving in nature.
