HYPOALLERGENIC?

Dog allergies are normally triggered by a protein found in the saliva and skin cells of your dog, which is found in abundant supply in the animal's dander.  This dander sticks to the dog's hair and it is this that most allergy suffers are allergic to.

Hypoallergenic dogs can be the answer to sufferers everywhere. Cockapoos and Cavapoos are low shedding, which lessens the amount of hair in the home, plus importantly they are known to have low dander.

There is no such thing as a total non-shedding dog. However if you have the right coat type on the Cockapoo or Cavapoo you buy, it will hardly shed anything.

Hundreds of families now enjoy a Raffles Cockapoo/Cavapoo who could simple not tolerate any other shedding dog in their home, so its good news for most.

The Bottom Line....

  • Although some researchers poo-hoo the idea of a dog safe for allergies, many allergy sufferers have successfully achieved dog ownership by seeking out one of these hypoallergenic breeds.

  • Each individual dog and allergy can be different.

  • Speak to a good knowledgably breeder like ourselves as you need to take advice which pup and which coat type is going to be best for you.

Visiting with Allergies

If you wishing to know if you are allergic to a Cockapoo, we do not advise you solely rely on a visit to us or any breeder for that matter.  Half an hour spent with a Cockapoo is not sufficient. We also have spaniel Mums who shed and thus our environment can trigger allergies.  We suggest you spend time with a friends or family Cockapoo/or cross breed with a low shedding coat first.

Remember it all depends on the coat type, so make sure the Cockapoo or Cavapoo you spend time with is a non shedding, shaggy or curlier coat.

We do advise many families on the right Cockapoo if you have allergies.  You can read more Here

Top Cockapoo Tip!

You can have super coats in all the F types, so F1, F1b and F2, and you can have shedding coats in all F types, F1, F1b and F2, it is all down to the individual pup you buy, not the F type.
